Things are different now from where they were a week ago. And last week is different from a month ago, and a month before that things were gravy. I won’t bore you with my thoughts on the global pandemic, in fact I feel the proper next step is to move forward and do everything we can to prevent the situation from crippling the good around us. I don’t mean move on and refuse CDC and governmental recommendations and guidelines, don’ be an idiot. Rather, psychologically we need to see the forest from the trees and not let these moments of negativity and doom cloud the big picture(s).
Our community, our conversations, our support for one another, and our [i imagine] much needed motivation will lift us over the undertones into a what I imagine will be a healthier and stronger collective front. Honing in on conversations specifically, these have been taking place through podcasts, publications, and social media for years now. I suspect the podcasts in particular will only grow from this point forward, and I don’t get the impression there’s a very easy manner in which to navigate the content within these podcasts. If there is, please show me the light! I’ve struggled to grasp the magic podcast landscape and disseminate what I should consider listening to.
Part of my journey into magic is not only to practice practice practice (thanks Penguin), but to also learn and engage with the community, and to listen to the dialogues being had. I’m not introducing an official podcast and magazine review channel or site, that sounds rather dull. But I will give a heads up that beyond writing about my own journey and struggles with magic, I will shed light on podcasts, articles, posts, etc that interested me; I’ll share and expand on things that provided me value and perspective.
The global issues has awarded us more time to think for ourselves, to reflect, to grow, and to take in additional perspectives and considerations. Think of this as my way of curating what I found valuable in the massive inter-webs. My intention 100% is not to supplement the content found in these sources, you absolutely need to check out the resources touched on here and experience them fully for your own benefit. Never take my rambles as an end point, seek out the sources and I’ll do my best to credit as magicians do best.
We’ll see what happens…that’s all we can say. Life lessons that go beyond the pandemic; be safe, be smart, be prepared, and wash your hands you filthy animal.
